Our Cracklin' Cornbread Goes On the Road to Ole Miss!

Can you say road trip? What an honor to take our Cracklin' Cornbread on the road to the beautiful University of Mississippi campus in Oxford for the 11th annual Southern Foodways Alliance Symposium! A three day conference celebrating Southern food, Clark and Juanita Shaw attended along with their son Brooks. A team of us from the Store went down to help cook up some of our famous BaBa's cracklin' cornbread topped with Clinton Family Farm sorghum for the attendees Saturday morning. BaBa's was founder Brooks Shaw's Mother and her cracklin' cornbread recipe has been served at the Old Country Store for over 40 years.
Earl and Cheri Cruze with Cruze Dairy Farm in Knoxville, Tennessee served their famous buttermilk and it was a perfect pairing. Many thanks to SFA director John T. Edge and associate director Mary Beth Lasseter with the Southern Foodways Alliance for this exciting opportunity.
